Photography for Intermediates
For long exposure photography, you can learn how to pick the right weather conditions, choose a good composition, initially expose your image, add the correct filters and adjust your exposure and finally take the shot. All you need is your own camera, filters and a tripod. If you don’t have filters or a tripod, then you can make use of mine.
With the dark skies we have here on the West Highland Peninsulas, you could try your hand at photographing the stars in the night sky. You can learn about the night sky and the photographic opportunities that exist; learn how to focus and compose your shot in the dark; and learn how set the correct ISO and exposure time to capture as much light as possible. You can use your own camera, provided it can go up to around ISO 6400. Just bring it along with the widest lens that you have. Alternatively, you can try it out using one of my own camera and lens combinations. Also, to get the best out of the images you capture, you may want to consider a brief lesson on how to process them in Adobe Lightroom.
Are you intrigued by time-lapse videos? They why not try of making your own? It’s not as difficult as you may think. Learn about basic time-lapse gear. Learn how to pick a suitable subject/composition, decide on the shooting interval and set the correct exposure. All you will need for this is your own camera and an intervalometer to control the shooting sequence. Alternatively, you can try out time-lapse on my own equipment. Also, you may want to consider a brief session in front of your computer to be shown how to process your sequence of images and convert them into a video using both Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Finally, if you just want to find yourself in some great locations when the conditions are such that you get the best shots you can with the limited time you have here, then I can help you with this.
So, if you are interested, please just get in touch with me to discuss what you are looking for. I will be more than happy to help by tailoring something to meet your needs.
